Delrin CNC Machining for Precision Parts & Prototypes
Manufyn provides CNC machining of Delrin® and POM components for OEMs, product developers, engineering teams and global manufacturing buyers. From functional prototypes to repeat production, we coordinate material sourcing, machining, quality inspection and delivery.
Your Delrin component. Built around your drawing.
Delrin® is widely used for bushings, gears, rollers, guides, fixtures, spacers and other precision mechanical components where low friction, stiffness, dimensional stability and machinability matter.
Producing a reliable Delrin component, however, requires more than simply machining plastic stock. Tool selection, workholding, machining sequence, thermal conditions, tolerances and inspection all influence the finished part.
One material. Multiple manufacturing routes.
Select the machining approach based on your component geometry, development stage, quantity and production requirements.
Delrin CNC Milling
Manufacture complex Delrin components with pockets, slots, profiles, holes, threads, steps and contoured features.

Quality Inspection →What we control before cutting.
Delrin machining performance depends on the complete manufacturing process — not just the CNC machine.
Material
Confirm the specified POM/Delrin grade, stock condition and material requirements.
Tooling
Tool geometry, diameter, sharpness, accessibility and finishing requirements are considered during process planning.
Workholding
Workholding is planned around part rigidity, clamping sensitivity and datum requirements.
Machining
Roughing, finishing, drilling, threading and chip evacuation are planned around the component.
Tolerances
Critical dimensions are evaluated against material behaviour, process capability and inspection requirements.
Inspection
Measurement methods are selected according to the feature, tolerance and functional requirement.
Delrin® / POM
A practical engineering plastic for precision mechanical components where machinability, stiffness and low-friction behaviour are valuable.
- Good machinability
- Low friction
- Low moisture absorption
- Good stiffness
- Lightweight compared with metals
- Suitable for many mechanical components
Specify the material correctly.
“POM” and “Delrin” should not automatically be treated as interchangeable specifications for every application.
The required grade should be established before production, particularly for critical mechanical components.

From CAD to finished component.
A controlled workflow reduces avoidable surprises between quotation, machining and delivery.
Drawing Review
Review geometry, material, quantity, tolerances, surface finish and functional requirements.
DFM & Planning
Evaluate tool access, workholding, machining sequence and critical manufacturing features.
CNC Machining
Manufacture the component using the appropriate milling, turning and finishing operations.
Inspection & Delivery
Verify critical requirements, complete agreed inspection and prepare parts for delivery.
Your drawing gets an engineering review.
A component can be technically machinable and still be unnecessarily expensive, difficult to inspect or difficult to manufacture repeatedly.
Manufacturing details
that affect your part.
Wall Thickness
Thin sections can increase
deflection and workholding sensitivity.
Pocket Depth
Deep features can increase
tool deflection and cycle time.
Internal Radii
Cutter geometry influences
achievable corner geometry.
Tool Access
Geometry should allow stable
cutter access wherever possible.
Tolerances
Tight tolerances should be
applied where function requires them.
Setups
Additional setups can increase
cost and positional variation.
Precision is more than a machine setting.
Material behaviour, workholding, thermal conditions, machining sequence and inspection all contribute to the final dimensional result.
Critical Dimensions
Functional dimensions are identified and inspection methods are selected according to tolerance and application.
Dimensional Inspection
Depending on the requirement, inspection can use appropriate gauges, micrometers, height measurement, optical inspection or CMM measurement.
First Article
For appropriate production programs, first-article inspection can establish confidence before repeat manufacturing.
