How Manufyn delivered a fully functional conveyor assembly in 10 days without tooling investment
Client Overview
A global robotic conveyor manufacturing company approached Manufyn to support the rapid development of a complete conveyor assembly. The company specializes in highly customized robotic conveyor systems that are typically produced in very low volumes, making conventional mass production tooling inefficient from both a cost and lead-time perspective.
The client required a manufacturing partner who could deliver production-ready parts and a fully assembled system without investing in expensive tooling or long development cycles.
Project Challenge
The client needed a fully functional robotic conveyor assembly within a very short timeline. The project involved multiple materials and manufacturing processes, all of which had to come together seamlessly in the final assembly.
The key challenges included:
- Precision machined aluminum components requiring tight tolerances
- Machined components in SS304 and SS310 grades
- Multiple functional parts manufactured in ABS
- Extremely low production volume, unsuitable for conventional tooling
- A compressed development and delivery window
The primary challenge was to deliver production-ready components and a complete assembly while avoiding the time and cost associated with full-scale tooling.
Execution
All components were developed in parallel using a structured rapid development workflow. Machined metal components and prototyped ABS parts were produced simultaneously rather than sequentially, reducing overall project time.
Once individual components were completed, Manufyn carried out the full mechanical assembly in-house. Assembly checks were performed to verify proper fitment, alignment, and functional performance of the conveyor system before dispatch.
Despite the variety of materials, processes, and tight tolerances involved, the entire development, assembly, and shipment was completed within just 10 days.
Project Outcome
The project achieved the client’s objectives within the required timeline:
- A complete robotic conveyor assembly was delivered within a 10-day lead time
- Zero tooling investment was required for low-volume production
- High precision and functional accuracy were achieved across all components
- The client experienced a significant reduction in development cycle time
- A ready-to-deploy assembly was delivered to the customer
Value Delivered
This project highlights Manufyn’s ability to support global OEMs with:
- Low-volume manufacturing solutions for customized systems
- Rapid prototyping for complex, multi-part assemblies
- Multi-material sourcing and process coordination
- End-to-end execution from part development to final assembly
Manufyn enables global manufacturers to move faster from concept to deployment without compromising on quality or precision.
